CBS Boston: Horizons for Homeless Children Helps Kids Prepare for Kindergarten

WBZ News attended Horizons’ annual moving up ceremony, celebrating departing students who are moving up to Kindergarten. Both parents and children attended this milestone celebrating all the students have accomplished at Horizons while sharing excitement for all the learning and growing that’s still ahead. Two Special Anniversaries, One Special Partnership

As MFS Investment Management celebrates its 100^th anniversary, Horizons is thrilled to mark 25 years of partnership together. From coat and toy drives to field trips, MFS always is ready to lend a helping hand. This anniversary year is extra special as we kicked off our first Horizons Summer Celebration, sponsored by MFS. Volunteers helped with bubbles, face painting, scooping slushies, serving lunch, and taking family pictures at a photo booth. It was a fun-filled afternoon that brought smiles to the faces of children, parents, MFS volunteers and Horizons staff.

Later in the summer, the MFS Band came to Horizons to sing, dance, and jam! The children went from listening and dancing to quickly becoming part of the band, playing instruments and singing their favorite songs alongside the band. Thank you, MFS, for 25 years of bringing joy, support, and enrichment to the families at Horizons!

A special thank you to PNC Bank, Goulston & Storrs, Chroma Medicine (Life Science Cares partner), and Wells Fargo for donating beautiful new backpacks filled with supplies for Horizons’ graduating preschoolers. They are all set and ready to shine in Kindergarten!
