The annual Horizons Breakfast was a huge success!

Breakfast 2024_0074

Horizons CEO Kate Barrand with parent alumnus and current infant/toddler teacher Shakurah Hairston.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the annual Horizons Breakfast in October! More than 800 joined us to engage in conversations about family homelessness, its detrimental impact on children and families, and how Horizons is working to counteract those effects everyday.

Together, we raised over $1.1 million in support of Horizons’ ongoing work!

Join the Horizons team!

We’re looking to hire an Assistant Director and a Playspace Specialist to support 70+ Playspace locations across the state.

The Assistant Director will oversee all aspects of the Playspace Program — supervision and team management, volunteer support and outreach, program partnerships and development — to ensure children in Massachusetts homeless shelters have access to developmentally appropriate play.

The Playspace Specialist will facilitate the daily management of Playspace shifts at shelter-based programs in the Greater Boston - Southeast region, ensuring smooth operation and addressing any immediate volunteer needs or concerns. This includes maintaining volunteer records, overseeing the upkeep and restocking of Playspaces, providing resources to volunteers, and visiting shifts to engage with volunteers, children and families.
