The landscape of the shelter system has changed, and Horizons is adjusting to meet the emerging needs at new permanent shelters in Dennis, Leicester, Lynn, Waltham, Wareham, and West Roxbury.

Are you or do you know a college student seeking an internship that will give you experience in early education, poverty alleviation, and/or social services? Interning at a homeless shelter and working directly with children offers a unique, meaningful, and often eye-opening experience. Interns at Horizons make a real-world impact, experience personal growth, and develop their own skills both personally and professionally during their time with us.

This year we are honored to host Diane Guerrero, a Colombian American actress, author, and advocate best known for her roles in Orange Is the New Black,Jane the Virgin, and Disney’s Encanto. A Boston native and passionate human rights activist, Diane shares her story in her memoir, In the Country We Love: My Family Divided.
