This summer, we hosted a series of virtual PAL community meetings for PALs to meet each other, discuss successes and challenges, and connect with Horizons staff. We're excited to continue these sessions in the fall! Each meeting includes a 15-minute presentation followed by 45 minutes of open discussion. Please see below for the upcoming fall schedule:
Meeting #4: Challenging Behaviors II | Thursday, September 5th at 6:30pm
Exciting news! We're building a PAL resource webpage to centralize and share Playspace resources, trainings, activity ideas, and more. In the meantime, please see below for helpful information on calm down strategies, de-escalating challenging behaviors, building routines in Playspace, safe outdoor practices, and Haitian Creole and Spanish language support.

Save the date! Horizons Annual Breakfast will be held on Thursday, October 10th. Individual and corporate sponsorship opportunities are now available. Individual tickets will be available to purchase in the coming weeks.
Earlier this summer, Concord PAL Steve Wong reached out to the Playspace Team with a creative idea and generous offer to run a PAL recruitment campaign on screens in youth hockey rinks across the state. As of July 1st, the campaign has been running on ~150 screens in MA youth hockey rinks — let us know if you see one in your community! Thank you, Steve, for all the time and care you dedicated to this project, and for your ongoing dedication as a PAL.

Bowl-a-thon fundraiser at Ron's in Hyde Park
On July 24th, Dorchester PAL Isabella Lee hosted a bowl-a-thon fundraiser at her family’s Ron’s Gourmet Ice Cream and Bowling in Hyde Park where 7 teams competed and raised over $2,500! Thank you, Isabella, for organizing the fundraising and going above and beyond to support our families.
